Don't Sell Yourself Short, Why Because You Are the Prize.

It's interesting how, when we want to escape a situation we don’t like, any potential solution can seem appealing. Often we will rush into another situation without fully considering it or exploring other options. One practice I've found helpful is to reevaluate the various situations occurring in my life. I've come to realize that I've been allowing the same song—my habits—to play on repeat. By using the same strategies, I end up in similar situations. While these strategies might work temporarily, the outcomes remain unchanged. It highlights the importance of trying new approaches and reflecting on what I need to change for a better result.

Never take the first offer and never settle for less because you are a blessing and a prize. When you understand your worth, you will not find yourself stuck in the same situations you’re trying to escape. Knowing your worth is not about thinking you’re better than anyone; it is about setting boundaries and recognizing what you bring to the table. You only have one life to live, and it should be filled with happiness. If someone or something is causing you distress, it’s your responsibility to protect your peace. Don’t allow anyone—be it a friend, family member, or boss—to make you feel indebted to them.

A few months ago, I found myself in a situation that wasn’t working for me. I remember driving to work with my aunt, and every morning, I played “Momma Said Knock You Out” by LL Cool J. My aunt could see the mood I was in; each song reflected the negativity I was feeling. Once I got to work, I realized that my interactions were often laced with negativity, which only compounded my unhappiness.

In a work environment, it’s crucial to feel valued and to enjoy the space you’re in. When you’re surrounded by negative energy, it can seep into you, and before long, you become that negative energy. I’ve always believed there’s power in what we say, and I trust that sometimes, life has a way of nudging you out of situations where you don’t belong.

When my time there came to an end, I was initially upset, but then it hit me: staying would have meant losing myself. I often speak about the importance of moving on and having the courage to start anew. Yet during this journey, I realized that it wasn’t fear holding me back—it was a lack of faith. This experience became a lesson for me, showing me what I truly needed, which was faith. Faith is not about believing, it's about knowing and confiding that what can't be seen is possible.

This time around, when I started my job search, instead of jumping at the first offer and settling, I decided to take my time. I focused on doing thorough research and being selective about the opportunities I considered. I’ve learned that sometimes you need to exercise patience and faith, recognizing that not every moment is the right moment for you. Anything truly worth having requires waiting and making sacrifices. It’s about having the vision to see beyond the immediate options. Before diving into anything new, it’s essential to pause and use your better judgment. Remember, you are the prize, so never settle for less, baby girl
