Goal Getter

The most effective way to predict the future is to plan, prioritize, and set boundaries and expectations if you want to see results! Many people use vision boards; as a way to keep their resolutions on track. Immediately I was attracted to the presentation due to its girly aesthetic.

What is a vision board? It's a display of inspirational pictures and quotes cut from magazines. It includes short-term goals and long-term goals. The purpose of a vision board is to serve as a visual reminder of what you want to accomplish. When I reflect on my previous vision boards, the presentations are always on point, but they lack how to execute your goals. My goals were not specific; they were vague. It did not reflect my outcome or what I wanted to show. I wasn't intentional about the things I wanted to work on. As a result, my goals continued in the next year. It all comes back to the saying: "If we fail to plan, we plan to fail.". Setting goals isn't enough; without planning and preparation.

The Planning and Preparation

Before the creativity begins, I think about my outcome. During this process, I am mainly concerned with three parts. What will I gain? Also, what things do I need to improve? What are some things I want to change? Specifically, I have been struggling with my weight and acne breakouts. Although I brought up the problem repeatedly, I did not look for a solution. In the eyes of my friends, family, and myself, I sounded like a broken record. Debilitated with the problem and determined to see results, I decided to plan out my goals differently. I gave myself a deadline when I would like to see results. I wrote out steps to execute each goal. Before I can achieve my goal, I must complete some prerequisites. The difference now is that I am intentional. I was purposeful and reflective on what I wanted to accomplish this year. Every page of my vision book has a section that summarizes my long- and short-term goals. Also, there is an outline of my plans for achieving them. The categories include beauty, fitness, personal, career, mental health, and self-care. All of these will benefit me personally and professionally.

Commitment

For one to reach one's goal, one must work hard. My vision book and planner go hand in hand to execute my task. I have marked the day and time when I will be working towards my goal in my planner. I am excited to see how things turn out. This time around I am committed and, most importantly, I am focused.
